Leaky Gut: Clinical Assessment and Nutritional Management
Diet-induced, metabolic endotoxemia is emerging as an important contributory factor to the development of a wide range of chronic diseases, including cardiometabolic, autoimmune, psychiatric, and neurodegenerative illnesses. Emerging human clinical studies have demonstrated that diet and dietary components are potent modifiers of circulating endotoxins and can be used to reduce plasma levels significantly and improve metabolic health.
Clinical management of gastrointestinal illness requires an approach based on our evolving knowledge of the underlying multi-factorial origins of symptoms unique to each individual. Accessible and cost-effective nutritional, metabolic and digestive assessments can help identify the cause of symptoms and direct and personalise treatment.
This talk explores the underlying causes metabolic endotoxemia. We also look at how assessment can be used to inform personalised dietary, lifestyle and nutritional interventions that improve physiological function, restore gastrointestinal health.
In this important lecture, you will explore:
- The clinical management of metabolic endotoxemia
- What the underlying causes of metabolic endotoxemia are
- Personalised treatments, based on lifestyle and nutritional medicine
