Nutritional Therapists of Ireland

NTOI (Nutritional Therapists of Ireland) is the professional association supporting qualified Nutritional Therapists in Ireland.

The organisation is run by volunteers from the membership who form the General Committee. Specific sub-committees oversee CPD and membership as well as special NTOI events.

The NTOI is a registered company with no capital and has a minimum of 3 directors at any time. A main directive of the board is to ensure that the professional status of Nutritional Therapists is formally recognised in Ireland as in Great Britain and to this end they are actively lobbying the government to register Nutritional Therapy as a practice.

A qualified Nutritional Therapist is someone who holds a minimum 3 year diploma in Nutritional Therapy and  is trained in basic biochemistry, physiology and pathology as well as supervised clinical practice. As such, a Nutritional Therapist is qualified to work in private practice and see clients on a one to one or group basis.

They are fully insured and must comply with the NTOI requirements for Continuing Professional Development (CPD).

How Nutritional Therapy is benefiting our clients

  • I cannot recommend Ruth enough to anyone experiencing digestive issues. For years, I have felt unwell and visited numerous doctors but it wasn’t until I had a consultation with Ruth that I understood exactly why I was feeling this way. The knowledge and guidance Ruth provided was invaluable and I am truly thankful.

  • My GP was insisting that I go on blood pressure tablets… I was resisting. I said I will try to bring down my blood pressure by making lifestyle changes..simple — I’ll eat healthier and exercise more….every Monday I’d start…and by every Tuesday I had failed…again and again and again…. A friend suggested I make an appointment to visit Mary……that was 5 months ago and now I am 3 stone lighter — my blood pressure is perfect 122/67 — I feel fantastic — I’m enjoying the taste of food and I’m never hungry… Thank you Mary….thank you….

  • I found Virginia to be absolutely excellent, she was not only extremely knowledgeable but she went above and beyond, always on the other end of an email to answer any concerns or worries I had. I found this support to be instrumental in my progress as it eased any anxieties or difficulties I encountered when undertaking a huge revamp of my diet. The whole experience has made me think about and take a more mindful approach to my diet and lifestyle choices and I have actively seen the results. Virginia was not only professional and knowledgeable but she was also wonderfully warm and kind and did everything at my pace and how it felt for me. I would have no hesitations in recommending her.

  • I attended The Nutrition Clinic because of ongoing respiratory problems which had been building up for years. Margot looked beyond my symptoms to search for and treat the underlying cause. It took time and perseverance but with Margot’s help not only was my respiratory problems resolved but I also have far more energy and zest for life. My health has improved dramatically and I am far more aware of what to eat and how to eat in order to maintain good health. I cannot recommend The Nutrition Clinic highly enough.
